A-La-Cart Programs

Picture 7For students who are at different points on their educational career we offer specialized services. We can design individualized programs on a case by case basis.

Specialized Services can include:

Jump Start Summer Programs

The mini training sessions are two hours in length unless noted in the course description.  Anyone who has contracted for a comprehensive grade level program can register for any of the Jump Start Program offerings for free.  Space is limited to 15 students per training session. 

To register for any of the Jump Start Programs send an email or call to see if there is space available.  A Jump Start Enrollment Contract will be mailed to confirm your placement in the program.  Registration is complete when the Jump Start Enrollment Contract is signed and returned with the Tuition Fee. Registration on several Private Scholarship Databases and completion of one typical scholarship essay. 

Week of July 6 – July 11, 2009 (Monday, Wednesday or Friday)
Week of August 17 – August 22, 2009 (Monday Wednesday or Friday)

Afternoon Training Session:  2:00pm or 4:00pm

Evening Training Session:  6:30pm

College Visitation Evaluator

Create a tool that can be used to evaluate the variables used to choose the best college or university for the student.  Session is for Seniors (Class of 2010)

College Application Review

Complete the Common Application and Construction of a Resume or Qualifications Sheet
Session is for Seniors (Class of 2010)

College Application Essay

Write and edit a common college entrance essay question supervised by a New York State Certified English Instructor.  Session is for Seniors (Class of 2010)

Scholarship Work Day

Students will have an opportunity to work with an expert to complete scholarship applications including the essay when appropriate.  Session is for Seniors (Class of 2010)

Week of August 17 – 22, 2009 (Every day of the week)

Leadership Seminar

Experiential learning training activities that focus on the universal employability skills – communication, critical thinking and problem solving, team work and goal setting)  Session is for Juniors (Class of 2011)

Week of August 13 – 17, 2009 Seminar will be a one day event.  The date will be confirmed based on registrants’ schedules. 

This one day event begins at 9:00am – 3:00pm

Includes:  lunch, snacks and guest speaker

Advanced Placement and Regents Prep Seminar

Study Skills Prep work for any of the AP course offerings including but not limited to AP US History as well as Regents courses – US History, Algebra II, Science – Chemistry, Biology, etc and Foreign Language

Session is for any grade level student

July 27 - 29, 2009 or August 24 – 29, 2009.  Course offerings will be determined on course needs of the student registrants.  Schedule of specific courses will be created as people register for course review.

What do I want to do for a Career?  Jump Start Training Seminar

Focus on identification of skills that translate into a potential career including interest survey tests, career research and career profile.
